Sun City Poms

Troy first began photographing The Sun City Poms in 2004. The photos eventually became part of an exhibit titled: When I Grow Up. Recently Troy began traveling with the Poms again, documenting performances both large and small. Troy’s most recent work captures them in a bright and vivid color palette, emphasizing the very energy that has made the Poms an inspiration to all ages.

For the past two decades Troy has been exploring the concept of aging by photographing seniors. Within The Sun City Poms, Troy has found a group of ladies whose ideas and attitudes on aging he can truly identify with. Plus, they are a whole lot of fun to be around. Members of the Sun City Poms come from all walks of life and shatter the conventional image of what it means to be a “senior citizen.” Performing with the spunk and energy of their youth, these ladies are having the time of their lives entertaining crowds and sharing positive aspects of aging.
